At the Journal of Undergraduate Research and Scholarly Excellence, we recognize the work and dedication that our past staff have put into this journal. Below, we highlight graduated JUR staff members.
2025 graduates
Sophie Kiehl
Sophie served as Co-Editor in Chief for the 2025-2026 school year. She was an Associate Editor from 2023 to 2025. Sophie graduated from Colorado State University in May of 2025 with a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences.
Paris kiehl
Paris served as an Associate Editor from 2023 to 2025. Paris graduated from Colorado State University in May of 2025 with a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences.
Drew lawless
Drew served as an Associate Editor for the 2024-2025 school year. Drew graduated from Emory University in May of 2025 with with a B.S. in Neuroscience and Behavioral Biology alongside a minor in Computer Science.
isABELLA SINK
Isabella served as a Copy Editor and an Associate Editor from 2023-2025. She graduated from Colorado State University in May of 2025 with a Bachelor of Arts in English.
2026 graduates
Laura Bussard
Laura served as Co-Editor in Chief of JUR from 2024-2026. Prior to being Co-Editor in Chief, she was an Associate Editor from 2023-2024. She graduated from Colorado State University in May of 2026 with honors in a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, concentrating in Environmental Politics and Policy, with a double minor in Zoology and Global Environmental Sustainability.
Symphony Schell
Symphony served as Co-Editor in Chief of JUR for the 2025-2026 school year. Previously, she was an Associate Editor from 2024-2025. Symphony graduated from Colorado State University in May of 2026 with a Bachelor of Arts in English with a concentration in Literature, and a minor in Business.
Alexa Holmes
Alexa served as an Associate Editor from 2023-2026. She graduated from Colorado State University with a Bachelor of Arts in English, with concentrations in Creative Writing and Rhetoric, and minoring in French.
jO cARROLL
Jo served as an Associate Editor for the 2025-2026 school year. They graduated from Colorado State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Communications as well as French and Arabic languages and cultures.
